Placing them in a table is an easy way to get different elements to line up. But usually when you do this, you don’t want the cell borders to be visible so the reader doesn’t know there is a table there.

It’s an easy job to remove table borders in your Word document.

First of all select your table: place the cursor in a table cell and then click the Layout tab (in the Table Tools contextual tab)> Next, click Select > Select Table.

Select Table

Now that the entire table is selected, we can remove its boders. Click to the Design tab and click the down arrow to the right of the Borders button, in the Table Styles group. Make sure you click the down arrow and not the body of the button: clicking the main button area simply removes or adds the last border element used by this button. Word displays the last border element used on the button itself, so that’s helpful.

When you click the Borders down arrow, select the No Border option.

No Borders

Voila – no borders. Don’t forget to select the table befor removing its borders. If you only put the cursor into a table cell and then remove borders, they are removed from that cell only. The rest of the table will keep its borders.

How To Convert Table To Text In Microsoft Word 2007 http://www.mswordhelp.com/how-to-convert-table-to-text-in-microsoft-word-2007/ http://www.mswordhelp.com/how-to-convert-table-to-text-in-microsoft-word-2007/#comments Wed, 27 Apr 2011 07:22:00 +0000 admin http://www.mswordhelp.com/?p=10 Word 2007 Task

Imagine that we have a table full of text and that we want to keep the text but get rid of the table. We could just copy the text out of the table and paste it into a program like notepad, before copying it back to our document once the table has been deleted. The problem with doing this, however, is that we will lose any formatting that has been applied to the text. If the document was created by someone else, who knows what weird formatting they applied!

Fortunately for us, there happens to be a magic solution in Microsoft Word that we can use.

Select the table in your document and you should see the Table Tools contextual tab appear with the Design and Layout tabs within.

Table Tools Tab

You can select the table simply by placing the cursor inside one of the cells.

Now click to the Layout tab within the Table Tools tab and then click on the Convert to Text button.

Convert To Text

The Convert Table to Text window will display, giving us choices about how we want to separate the text in each cell. The best choice is often Paragraph marks, as shown in the image below, but you will have to decide what’s best for your unique situation.

Convert Table To Text

Taking the Paragraph marks option will display each table cell’s text as a new paragraph.

Change Font Colour In Microsoft Word 2002 http://www.mswordhelp.com/change-font-colour-in-microsoft-word-2002/ http://www.mswordhelp.com/change-font-colour-in-microsoft-word-2002/#comments Fri, 22 Apr 2011 18:07:59 +0000 admin http://www.mswordhelp.com/?p=47 Task

I need to change the font colour of some text in Microsoft Word 2002. How do I do that?

Easy way (with upper toolbar involved):

  • Select the text that you want to change (format).
  • Look at the upper toolbar and on the right side you should find this icon .
  • Click on in and a color palette will unfold.
  • Click on the colour you want to apply and it’s done.

More complicated way but with other formatting options:

  • This way is just to explain the philosophy of Microsoft Word
  • We are going to change parameters of text and that means Formatting the Font so:
  • From the upper toolbar select: Format – Font or use shortcut CTLR + D
  • You will get a window called Font
  • In the middle on the left side you will find a drop down menu called Font Color
  • Click on it and a color palette will unfold
  • If you wish, you can apply also some other formatting offered in this window
  • Click on the color you wish to use, hit OK and it is done

I hope it helped and Microsoft Word Help is always at your service
If you liked this post help to spread the word.

Additional tips and tricks:

  • If you used the icon and you wish to reapply the same color on other parts of the text, you do not have to unfold the whole color palette. It is enough to click on it and the color of the stripe bellow the letter “A” will be applied to the text. In our case it will be red:
  • You can do this even without selecting the text. In this case all the text that you will type will be in this color. This can be changed anytime, of course.
