I need to change the font colour of some text in Microsoft Word 2002. How do I do that?

Easy way (with upper toolbar involved):

  • Select the text that you want to change (format).
  • Look at the upper toolbar and on the right side you should find this icon .
  • Click on in and a color palette will unfold.
  • Click on the colour you want to apply and it’s done.

More complicated way but with other formatting options:

  • This way is just to explain the philosophy of Microsoft Word
  • We are going to change parameters of text and that means Formatting the Font so:
  • From the upper toolbar select: Format – Font or use shortcut CTLR + D
  • You will get a window called Font
  • In the middle on the left side you will find a drop down menu called Font Color
  • Click on it and a color palette will unfold
  • If you wish, you can apply also some other formatting offered in this window
  • Click on the color you wish to use, hit OK and it is done

I hope it helped and Microsoft Word Help is always at your service

Additional tips and tricks:

  • If you used the icon and you wish to reapply the same color on other parts of the text, you do not have to unfold the whole color palette. It is enough to click on it and the color of the stripe bellow the letter “A” will be applied to the text. In our case it will be red:
  • You can do this even without selecting the text. In this case all the text that you will type will be in this color. This can be changed anytime, of course.
